Patient Stories

A patient of ours reached out to our 168 call center and requested a medical examination. We immediately responded and conducted an organization, and our doctor and health professionals reached the patient's house about 1 hour later. They encountered a tragic scene there. Our patient was lying on the floor unconscious and did not respond to any stimuli. As part of the initial assessments, it was deemed appropriate to transfer them to the hospital. The transfer was compatible with 112 emergency service. But the patient's spouse was also scared by the effect of the scene they faced and had trouble organizing. Since the patient's daughter was abroad, our Home Care Unit took over the entire operation. The patient was transferred to Kızılay Kartal Hospital via our transfer vehicle. Patient was treated in the emergency department. Patient was admitted to our hospital by our internal medicine specialist due to high blood sugar and their treatment was arranged. During this time, medical support personnel were assigned to accompany them in the hospital. Patient's spouse was kept away from the hospital environment. Patient's relatives were informed about the patient's condition every day at intervals.

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

It is a type of virus that was first seen in Wuhan, China, at the beginning of December 2019 and quickly affected the whole world; it is easily transmitted from person to person and causes respiratory tract infections in the infected person.

Symptoms of this virus include fever, coughing, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing. In cases where the virus has become stronger in the body, the infection can cause pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, renal failure, and even death.

Among the symptoms of coronavirus, the most commonly known ones are high fever, headache, and dry cough that lasts for days. But in some patients, the following symptoms are also observed;

  • Shortness of breath

  • Phlegmy cough

  • Sore throat

  • Muscle and joint pain

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Loss of appetite

  • Nasal discharge

  • Headache

  • Severe respiratory failure

  • Renal failure

People who show symptoms of coronavirus should take precautions by wearing a mask to avoid infecting the people around them before going to the relevant medical institutions.

Standard recommendations to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections include washing the hands regularly with hand disinfectants containing alcohol or water-soap, covering the mouth and nose with the inner elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing, avoiding contact with people who show these symptoms. Used tissue should immediately be disposed of to the trash.
